Leo and I made it out to Devil's Lake today and took advantage of the balmy 45-deg weather by working a couple of excellent routes at Pedestal Buttress.  After a pretty sweet hike up the CCC trail we managed to get a top rope set-up on Birch Tree Crack (5.8).  On a warm summer day this would probably go as a moderately difficult trad lead, today it was super-fucking fun and excellent top roping.  A continuous crack with some heady moves and flares all the more fun when you can't feel your fingers at all.  I managed some nice fist jams and it had great feet!  We each topped out on this route and then took a try at climbing "The Stretcher" (5.9-510b) depending on the variation.  A really fun set of moves up a sheer wall with a some funky crimps, side-pulls and long-reachy moves to "maybe good rails".  We were losing light fast so we didn't finish the upper 20-feet which looked like a lot more good fun.  Next time for sure.
