Mount Robson - a photo on Flickriver

Mount Robson

            Mount Robson is the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. When you come around a bend on the Yellowhead Highway suddenly the mountain appears right in front of you, incredibly tall. Getting a photo of it without the road proved more difficult. Before entering Mount Robson Provincial Park we bushbashed to the nearby bank of the Fraser River looking for a more natural composition. The mountain was not even visible from the river bank (left) and the drone was our only hope to get the composition we had envisaged.  Views of Mount Robson started to open up across the river. The photo shows the confluence of the Robson River (left) and the Fraser River (right). It is the same Fraser River that flows into the sea over 1300 km (800 mi) downstream from here in Vancouver. The photo is a panorama from 2 files in landscape format.
