Netra - a photo on Flickriver

Some months ago when I started with Flickr Netra was one of my first contacts and I would call her an instant fave. One of the things that caught my attention at first – I have to admit - was her icon. Wow, a truly beautiful woman. (New icon came at the beginning of 2010 – likewise beautiful but unfortunately no SP so far (learnt this expression from Nam recently) on her stream.)

The first work of her’s I saw was this one I think: www.flickr.com/photos/36705722@N08/3972229680/ Was so amazed!!! Couldn’t understand how you can do these lines and textures and the children in between. And when I immediatedly flicked through her other early works I found many other gems (as WillemGT rightfully calls them). Look at this for example: www.flickr.com/photos/36705722@N08/3738255258/ It’s all so well seen, composed, so soft and clear at the same time that it is hard to describe.

But what I was wondering about was that there were only very few comments on her early pictures. I think it was because she never posted them in the popular groups. But when you go through her pages you will find out that quite naturally a steady and growing group of admirers was following her.

And then came Paris!!! This series just became a hit on Flickr and I would call it a classic now. Just two wonderful examples of so many www.flickr.com/photos/36705722@N08/4130563767/ and www.flickr.com/photos/36705722@N08/4141246324/

The rest you have to see for yourself. Many did so far and Netra’s contact list now contains more than 600 names. This is something which worries me a little bit because Netra isn’t just a gifted photographer but she is also a wonderful commentator and a great contact to have. So I am always wondering how she can catch up as she has other creative work to do: www.netranei.com/

So Netra, I hope that also in future you will find some time and post us the gems you find on the streets of Seattle or any other places. We appreciate it a lot!!!

P.S.: The name Netra is from India and it means: eyes – wonderful!!:)))
