Schachbrettblume - Chess Flower (Fritillaria meleagris)

Schachblume, auch Schachbrettblume oder Kiebitzei genannt. In Deutschland gibt es weniger als eine Hand voll größerer Vorkommen dieser zu den Liliengewächsen zählenden Blume. In der Seeveniederung zwischen Hörsten und Over an der Elbe befindet sich eines dieser Vorkommen.

Chess Flower, also called checkerboard flower or Kiebitzei. In Germany there are fewer than a handful of larger occurrences of this flower, which belongs to the lily family. One of these occurrences is located in the lowlands between Hörsten and Over on the Elbe.
