Chester Cathedral presents a reflective Bronze Sculpture installation, using life size, human forms by Chester-based artist, Colin Spofforth.
The quiet contemplation of the sculptures connect beautifully, with the fabric of the medieval cathedral. Thought provoking and challenging, Spofforth’s sculpture will encourage the viewer to pause and interpret the collection.

Colin Spofforth has been creating unique, ambitious and beautiful sculptures for over 25 years, both in the UK and internationally. Colin specialises in producing large scale figurative bronzes and fabricated sculptures both for public and private commissions. Each one developed specifically for its location; with a holistic view to the purpose and function of the artwork.

Past successful projects include ‘The Runner’, still the largest Bronze Sculpture in Europe, which reaches 30ft high and weighs 7 tonnes. This was commissioned to celebrate the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games and proudly unveiled by former world record holder, Steve Cram. In 2014 ‘Lions of the Sky’ was commissioned by the British expatriate community in Czech Republic. This impressive bronze sculpture is a memorial to the Czech pilots who flew with the RAF during WW2 and permanently sited at the foot of Prague Palace and Parliament Building. Unveiled by Sir Nicholas Solmes and the President of the Czech Republic, the event featured a Spitfire flyby
