Queen of Olare Orok - a photo on Flickriver

During a recent trip to Masai Mara, we stayed close to the Olare Orok area of Game Reserve. All pride of Lions have their own designated territories and a lot of fights occur between them when members of a pride wander into another's area. 

We met up with the Olare Orok pride which consisted of 5 Lionesses and numerous cubs. This was the eldest Lioness looking very seriously at some Topi's standing in the decent. Being in the middle of the day at noon the sun was head high and the heat stiffeling it was only a short lived interest as they quickly went back into the bushes looking for shade.
