Radio Kootwijk

            Radio Kootwijk(1918) is een voormalig zenderpark dat in de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw een belangrijke communicatieverbinding vormde tussen Nederland en met name zijn toenmalige kolonië Nederlands-Indie. Het hoofdgebouw (Gebouw A) is een Rijksmonument. Het gebouw in art deco-stijl is een mengvorm van de Berlijnse en Amsterdamse School. Op 5 mei 1923 werd Radio Kootwijk in gebruik genomen door voor het eerst de radiotelegrafieverbinding tussen Nederland en voormalig Nederlands-Indië te leggen. Om dit te vieren werd op 5 mei 2013 hetzelfde telegram richting Indonesie gestuurd. 

Radio Kootwijk (1918) is a former broadcasting center which formed an important communication channel in the first half of the 20th century between the Netherlands and its former colony the Dutch Indies. The main building (Building A) is a national monument. It is a mixture of art deco with the Amsterdam and Berlin School. On May 5, 1923 Radio Kootwijk started officially by sending a radio telegraph connection between the Netherlands and the former Dutch Indies. To celebrate this the same message was send on May 5, 2013 to Indonesia.
