Flickriver

            The census of 1842 listed 55 people living on the Woolmers Estate. Among these were servants and farm workers, and others with more responsible roles. Many of them were convicts under assignment, and it was often a chance for them to gain their freedom through a "Ticket-of-leave". The coachmen were very trusted employees and supervised the stable hands in managing the horses.

The building we see here was divided into a series of small cottages where each of the coachmen lived.
