Some more Canon 40D video tests.

Thanks to Чернов А.А. who has developed the "EOS Camera Movie Record". It's not ideal, as you have to have the camera plugged in to a computer to record but it's still a lot of fun. Works with Canon EOS 450D, Canon EOS 1000D, Canon 40D, Canon 50D and Canon 1Ds Mark III.

How to use the program:
Basically, you install the program, turn your camera on and format the card. Turn the settings dial to P, Tv, Av or M, plug in the USB cable to connect it to the computer, run the EOS Camera Movie Record program. You should hear the shutter open (like you just switched to Live-view) and then the video feed will appear on your monitor. Click "Write!" to record and Stop when you're done. The video is uncompressed - even 30 seconds recording will be a few hundred MB so make sure you have enogh hard drive space.

The frame rate seems to be variable and depends on your computer. I'd suggest editing the video with something like VirtualDub and converting it to a proper frame rate (mine says ~19.7529 or something so i changed it to 20) and compressing it to Xvid or similar.

"View on Flickriver" Greasemonkey script

A Greasemonkey script that adds Flickriver links to various Flickr photo pages - user photos, favorites, pools etc, allowing to quickly open the corresponding Flickriver view.

Also, allows quickly viewing any Flickr photo on black background in large size.
