Jake Says That Vacation Is Great in the Western North Carolina Mountains

I'm focusing on making images and learning more, and will have less commenting Flickr time on vacation, so please no need to comment.

My Jake, he'll be 2 in September 2010. Finally I captured some of the brightness in his deep set eyes-- they are very hard to capture and not blow out the whites in his coat. Part of my 52 Weeks for Jake set. This year Lisette is my 52 Weeks for Dogs subject, but I'm trying to continue with Jake photos also. I went to the Asheville, f32 camera club- had a great time-- listened to wonderful critiques, and learned a bit more about burning and dodging, especially burning some of the borders so that the brightness does not take you eye out of the frame. So I'll be paying more attention to this in my compositions. As always, feedback and critques very welcome. (Of course, now that I have no computer, I won't be able to burn and dodge until I get a new one up and running with Photoshop.)

P.S. As I spilled liquid on my laptop and ruined it, I now need to get a new computer. Just wondering if anyone has gotten a new computer recently-- most are now 64 bit, and Windows 7. My prior computer was Windows Vista, and 32 bit. So I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Photoshop Elemenets 6, loading okay onto a new 64 bit, Windows 7 operating system? I'll call Adobe and check and I have searched online forums, which in the past reported trouble. Just wondering if anyone recently made the change and had it go smoothly. If not, buying a newer version of Photoshop will sure up the price of getting a new computer.

Thanks for all the prior info my contacts shared about ways to clean my ruined laptop. I'm out in the NC mountain countryside right now, not that near a good repair center. And my guess is the cost of paying someone to try to ressurect my 2.5 yr. old laptop may be better put toward the cost of a new and better computer. I am going to a nearby Radio Shack to try to get some materials to attempt to clean it myself. But if that does not work, I need to be ready to go for work the moment I get back from vacation, and I have to have a functioning laptop-- so will have to buy a new one, unless I suddenly get my ruined one working again.
