Goofy pose in Salt Wash... 20120917_4135

            Yours truly in a sandstone alcove about 15 feet (4.6 m) above the floor of Salt Wash canyon. A steep sandstone slope led from the floor to here. The friction of my hiking boots might not have been enough to allow me to ascend. Shoe Goo on the bottom of my bamboo hiking stick added enough friction to get me up to this point.

From here I continued hiking, reaching the base of the second ridge at left. A note on the image identifies the ridge.

Joe Tripod, steady as ever, held my camera for this photo and said nothing about my goofy pose.
