O’Rourke’s Tower 2 - a photo on Flickriver

            O'Rourke's Tower, with the Shannon River beyond.

A visit to the Clonmacnoise monastic site in County Offaly, Ireland, on the River Shannon. Per Wikipedia, it was founded in 544 and remained an active monastery until the 12th century. The stone buildings date to the 9th century The buildings were destroyed and looted in 1552 by the English.
