Lineup: 12 x fiddle, 4 x flute, 2 x whistle, 5 x concertina, 3 x button accordion, 4 x tenor banjo, plus Mick O'Connor (tenor banjo), Karen Ryan (fiddle), Pete Quinn (p).

The Trad Gathering brings together young traditional Irish musicians from across London and further afield under the direction of Karen Ryan. The project has existed since 2008, with a break between 2011 and 2017. In recent years it has focussed on tunes associated with a particular musician. For 2023 it was the the London born banjo player Mick O'Connor, who joined them on stage. I photographed the Trad Gathring in 2019 as part of the Irish Hooley concert (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157709151349352/). I have also taken photos of O'Connor, including ones with John Bowe, Le Chéile and the Thatch Ceili Band (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/mickoconnor,-thetr...).
