LRS 4331, Ex-Oregon & Northwestrn RR, Neenah Yard, 21 Apr 24-10

            A447 brought in another curiosity: an ex-Oregon & Northwestern. I love looking up the history of cars like this. In a nutshell, it was a 50 mile short line built to harvest timber in the Ochoco and Malheur National Forests (east-central Oregon). The line was begun in 1924 but soon went bell up. It was bought by the Edward Hines Western Pine Company in 1928, renaming it the Oregon and Northwestern Railroad (hence the "HP" in the logo). They dieselized in the mid 1950's with all Baldwin power. As the timber was dwindling, so did the train. In 1984, a flood washed out much of the trackage and bridges.
