Psychedelic Mushrooms - a photo on Flickriver

            I found these mushrooms invading my wife's indoor garden.  I have no idea what variety they are, but they seem to pop up very quickly, and then die very quickly.  The green thing in the foreground by the stem of the left mushroom is a dead one that has already bent over.  Since I took this photo only about 2 hours ago, the tops of these two mushrooms have already fanned upwards, presumably to release their spores.  I suspect they will die later in the day or tomorrow, and new parts of the underground mushroom network will pop up nearby.

Based on about two days worth of research, it appears that these mushrooms belong to the genus Inocybe, known colloquially as "fiber caps."  Most of the hundreds of species of Inocybe are toxic.  Seven are hallucinogenic.  Very few are edible.  I will attempt to figure out which category these fall into (but not by eating them).
