Weathered Door, Queen S, Paisley - a photo on Flickriver

            While going for a walk in downtown Paisley, Ontario this past weekend, we passed a large door suited for a delivery vehicle, on the West side of Queen Street South at number 468. The door was heavily weathered but it was still possible to recognize the ‘mural’ (of sorts) painted on it. The mural featured a pair of large bees as well as a few yellow flowers. Seen here is a detail from the door, the yellow being remains of bees and green being foliage associated with the flowers, and  a corroded door handle. This crop provided a nice abstract for me. - JW

Taken using hand-held Nikon D800 fitted with an AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm VR 1:4.0 lense set to 38mm, ISO125 (Auto ISO), Auto WB, Matrix metering, Shutter Priority Mode, f/4.0, 1/200 with an EV-0.33 exposure bias. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee from Nikon RAW/NEF source file: set final image size to be 9000px wide, darken overall by setting Exposure compensation to EV-0.17, very slightly increase Contrast in L-A-B mode, slightly boost Vibrance, sharpen (edges only), save. PP in free Open Source GIMP: use the Curves tool to slightly darken the bottom end of the curve very slightly, to remove a residual blue colour cast use Colour Balance tool to reduce the blue (i,e, shift a little to yellow), very slightly sharpen slightly, save, scale image to 6000px wide, very slightly sharpen, save, add fine black-and-white frame, add bar and text on left, save, scale image to 3000 px wide for posting online, sharpen, save.
