Bug-eyed - a photo on Flickriver

            Closterotomus  norwegicus is also known as a potato capsid or potato mirid, seen here on a milkweed leaf. These bugs had been introduced to the United States a long time ago. They are known to chew and eat assorted plants, flower buds and some fruits. I don't think this one was fond of the milkweed plant since the milky latex-like sap is toxic to many insects.
This is along the sidewalk at the Primrose Way Pollinator Garden in Palo Alto.
