            Salvia munzii—Munz's sage.  the species is included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 2B.2 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA; common elsewhere ). Salvia munzii is restricted to the San Miguel mountains in San Diego County , where it is rare.  The species is somewhat more common in northern Baja California but, even there, it faces pressures from agriculture and urban growth.  The shrub makes an attractive plant for small gardens and containers.  Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
