The Jet Star (famous Seaside roller coaster)

            Four flickr friends and myself, got permission from the police to hit the seaside beach at sunrise yesterday morning. (Nobody is allowed on the beach yet.) The beach was completely deserted except for us and some workmen still cleaning up debris. Seaside is still a ghost town as most of the homes were flooded very badly from hurricane Sandy and are still not inhabitable. This roller coaster called the Jet Star was ripped right off the pier and pulled right into the ocean. 
This was shot about a minute or two before the sun popped up. I used the B+W #110 filter. It stops the camera down 10 stops so I could get a long exposure. Turned out to be a wonderful xmas present from my mom. This is the first chance I had to use it and I really like it. You have to set the shot up before you put the filter on because it's as black as the ace of spades! You also have to shoot in manual as well as manual focus. Sounds more complicated than it is... I kinda got the hang of it with in a few minutes...
I have a few more shots... one with the sun peeking thru and one with the sun completely up. Thought I'd start with this one...
The roller coaster is sitting about 150 feet from the beach. I had to get up at 3:45 am and drive two hours south to get it, but it was so worth it, because I had a great day.
