Diplodocus carnegii - a photo on Flickriver

            This is a cast of Diplodocus carnegii. The specimen was discovered in the quarry now known as Dinosaur National Monument, just half an hour out of town. When it was found, it was among the largest and most complete sauropods known. Andrew Carnegie, who financed the digs for his museum, was so impressed by the find that he had casts made and sent to museums around the world. Naturally the Field House wouldn't be complete without it's own.
