Ferrovia Città del Vaticano - a photo on Flickriver

             Il passaggio tra lo stato italiano e lo stato di Città del Vaticano non è sempre aperto, infatti il traforo nelle mura leonine del Vaticano, sono protette da un portentoso cancello scorrevole in ferro, che all’occorrenza, direttamente dalla Santa Sede, viene aperto o chiuso per far passare i convogli ferroviari....The passage between the Italian state and the state of Vatican City is not always open, in fact the tunnel in the Leonine walls of the Vatican are protected by a portentous sliding iron gate, which if necessary, directly from the Holy See, is opened or closed for rail convoys to pass.
