Le pianiste de jazz canadien Oscar Peterson, à Ottawa!

            Une statue du pianiste de jazz canadien Oscar Peterson né le 15 août 1925 à Montréal (Québec) et mort le 23 décembre 2007 à Mississauga (Ontario). L'oeuvre est installée à l'extérieur du Centre national des Arts du Canada, 1 Elgin Street, intersection avec Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. 

La statue de bronze grandeur nature a été créée par la sculptrice canadienne Ruth Abernethy. L’œuvre représente Peterson assis sur un banc devant un piano, souriant, et comprend un espace permettant aux visiteurs de s'asseoir à côté de lui. 

La statue était destinée à représenter Peterson comme s'il venait de finir de jouer et s'était tourné vers son public. Le piano a 97 touches par opposition aux 88 touches d'un piano standard et est basé sur un piano autrichien que Peterson a préféré.
