Sonny and Cher never saw this coming when they created "I Got You Babe”, their first major hit, in 1965. The Hot Summer single of the year sold more than three million copies and propelled Sonny & Cher from obscurity to saccharine super-stardom, which indirectly led to the destruction of their relationship long before the end of their respective topsy-turvy celebrity careers.

The song is still as inseparable from our notions of the mid-60s, innocent love, and Sonny & Cher as they ever were. But every Halloween on the Boulevard de Victoria (as all the trendy hipsters from the 'right side of the park' like to call it), it has become an integral part of the local Transylvania Shop and Coffee’s (www.transylvaniashopandcoffee.co.uk) Tim Burton-inspired spooky seasonal gory street decor.

The newly-wed skeletal figures, the oldest of their growing annual collection, have been affectionately nicknamed “Sonny & Cher” by the local denizens, on account of the fact that when you walk past them, they belt out “I Got You Babe” - in time to the movement of their jaws - to entertain the passers-by.
