"Seamanship" - a photo on Flickriver

"Seamanship"

            Some of the pupils and staff from Islay High School take to the sea for some Seamanship learning in one of the St. Ayles type skiffs called "Ceasnachadh" meaning Inquiry and built by the pupils in 2014. There are to skiffs, the other being called "Dan-thuras" meaning Adventure and both were painted in the High School colours by the pupils. Being surrounded by the sea the skills that the pupils learn on their outings could be invaluable to them in years to come.
