The Wind Beneath My Wings - a photo on Flickriver

            I live near a place called Bird Island where thousands of different birds spend the summer raising young.  I like to go out at sunrise or sunset and see how many different images of wing positions I can get of the pelicans. The wind direction and the suns location  determines whether I get a front shot or a rear shot.  

You can see the late day sun on the back of this bird.  They are very graceful and agile landers.  They glide, spill air from under their wings, twist their bodies and always see to hit their spot.
