o holy pile of white stone - a photo on Flickriver

            In the first week of January we experienced a freakish (but very welcome) warm spell; the temperature climbed up to 60 degrees for a day. All the snow melted. I went for a walk along a nearby bike path and found these two conjoined mounds of white stone. 

I know they're just a part of some future construction project, but there was an oddly primitive beauty to the stones. I rather hope the construction project--whatever it is--loses its funding and those stones stay just like they are, and the grasses grow up around them, and small creatures incorporate them into their habitat.
