            L'Otarie à fourrure de Nouvelle-Zélande est un mammifère appartenant à la famille des Otariidae. 

Arctocephalus forsteri, le phoque à fourrure d'Australasie, le phoque à fourrure du sud de l'Australie, le phoque à fourrure de Nouvelle-Zélande, le phoque à fourrure antipipéen, ou phoque à fourrure, sont des espèces d'otaries à fourrure que l'on trouve principalement dans le sud de l'Australie et en Nouvelle-Zélande. Le nom de phoque à fourrure de Nouvelle-Zélande est utilisé par les anglophones de Nouvelle-Zélande; le kekeno est utilisé dans la langue maorie
  Depuis 2014, le nom commun de phoque à fourrure au nez long a été proposé pour la population de phoques vivant en Australie.

Bien que les populations australiennes et néo-zélandaises présentent des différences génétiques, leurs morphologies sont très similaires et restent donc classées comme une seule espèce. Après l'arrivée des humains en Nouvelle-Zélande, et particulièrement après l'arrivée des Européens en Australie et en Nouvelle-Zélande, la chasse a réduit la population en voie de disparition.

Arctocephalus forsteri, the Australasian fur seal, South Australian fur seal, New Zealand fur seal, Antipodean fur seal, or long-nosed fur seal, is a species of fur seal found mainly around southern Australia and New Zealand. The name New Zealand fur seal is used by English speakers in New Zealand; kekeno is used in the Māori language.[2][3] As of 2014, the common name long-nosed fur seal has been proposed for the population of seals inhabiting Australia.

Although the Australian and New Zealand populations show some genetic differences, their morphologies are very similar, and thus they remain classed as a single species. After the arrival of humans in New Zealand, and particularly after the arrival of Europeans in Australia and New Zealand, hunting reduced the population near to extinction
