            The Kansas City Blues Festival took place at at Lavender's Circle L Ranch in Kansas City, Kansas. Blues had some of its roots in my hometown. I love the music, tickets were only $10 for the day, and it just happened to be my birthday. 

While I was taking this photo, the truck's owner came up behind me and said, "That was the truck that transported the tipi here." (You can see the tipi in other images in this album.) Something about the pride in his voice caused me to think that perhaps he had made the tipi himself, and I asked about it. "Yep. The third tipi I've made. After I finished painting this one, I was soaking in the hot tub and saw a UFO come to hover over the tipi." I asked him how long, and he said it hovered there for a good five minutes. "That's interesting," I said, "because ever since we got here my husband has been joking about UFOs and wondering when the UFO will arrive." The truck's owner just nodded at that and wandered over to play his drums.
