Class 40 Preservation Society loco move along the Hope Valley - 1756

With Grindleford's track-circuited section ahead having all clear on the down line signal, the equally well turned out LMS 'Managers Coach', No. 6320, comes into view with someone stood at the back, making a cuppa maybe as the short ECS set heads off along the Hope Valley towards Hathersage, Bamford, and on to Hope and Earles Sidings where the pair is due to stand on one of the siding lines for almost an hour. Having just returned from the south a matter of two hours earlier, it wasn't my intention to go careening about along the Hope Valley but a prompt from fellow Flickr photographer, Gavin, made me think on and realise what an opportunity this was to grab some further shots of this special locomotive and coach... so, orft I jolly well went to Mr. Earles Sidings, not far from the cement works at Castleton, near Hope. Here at Grindleford there seems to be a lull in the work to install the 'Dynamic Loop', 'Smart Motorway' maybe, at the side of the line into Sheffield between Bamford and just west of here, to aid in increasing passenger train frequency, slow moving heavy freights from Peak Forest and the CAstleton, being sidelined into the Loop to allow faster passenger train to pass.. the 'Yard' at Grindleford is full of materials and plant, seen both beyond 40345 on the left and to the left of the LMS Coach, but nothing appears to be happening along the line..
