Two out of three freights in the Hope Valley at Grindleford - 2290

            The first of potentially three moves through here in around an hour, but the third didn't run, sees the arrival of the Washwood Heath come out of the tunnel with engines in full pelt producing a respectible amount of the 'blue stuff'. This service is a fairly regular operation through here and it arrived just as I got to my perch to grab the shot of it passing through the station. Hauled by DBS class 66, but still decked out in EWS livery, this is 66063 on the 4M11, Washwood Heath R.M.C. to Peak Forest Cemex Sidings working and it looks to be hauling a rake of HTA bogie coal hoppers, to be filled with aggregates one supposes, not cement! The platform lengths here speak of days when this station, and all the others along the Hope Valley, saw a much busier service and with trains having much longer passenger stock.
