The Queen and I

            This is a creative B/W photograph of me, the photographer, beneath the enthroned and crowned Queen Victoria's statue of Pentelic marble. The Victoria Memorial was unveiled in 1911 in London. At the top a gilded bronze Winged Victory reaches a height of 82 ft (25 m); beneath one sees a humble photographer, as in juxtaposition. There is a Roman inscription: ❝Victoria REGINA IMPERATRIX❞ (meaning Queen and Empress). 

Queen Victoria (1819–1901) reigned from 1837 until her death.
