Church on Ulva - a photo on Flickriver

Church on Ulva

            A small church was built at Ardalum between 1827 and 1828. It cost £1,500 and was designed by Thomas Telford. It was restored in 1921.

The Certificate of Complete of the Ulva Church and Manse is dated 14 March 1828, and it was conveyed by Charles MacQuarie. 

There was a budget of £1,500 pounds for the construction and the actual cost came to £1,495 14/1.

It is still used, partly as a community centre, and with a wing for worship.

The last resident minister, Rev. MacKenzie left in 1929.
