The 'Winter' Cumbrian Mountain Express

            The ground is frozen solid and a snow storm has just begun as Black Five No.45305 heads the first 'Railway Touring Company' 'Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' originating from London Euston, at Blea Moor.

Shortly after the train had passed, a set of points became frozen and no trains could pass over Ribblehead viaduct for some three hours. Unfortunately for myself, I was taking the train back to Carlisle, so had a longer wait than expected!
