Day 23; Trapped

            I run quick to the walls and try to touch my way to an exit, but there is no exit to be found. I scramble and become worried and tired. I find a knob but as hard as I pull there is nothing to be done. I am blind, I am deaf, I am mute, I am everything. 

My senses are on an edge. This is my own prison. Any light will kill me. The smallest movement, the smallest sound, and once again I am on the floor restless.

After almost a whole week with a migraine I am completely restless and hopeless. 

In the same way I am trapped in many other directions. I am trapped in my everyday battles, trapped in sympathetic concerns.

What do you do when you can't use your perceptions as an aid? What do you do when it seems better to isolate yourself from the world than to live it because the pain is unbearable?

I guess you turn to the thing that requires no perception. It requires thought and faith and nothing else.

I can't imagine what Helen Keller's world was like. Here I am trapped in a prison. I'd rather not talk or move or open my eyes. It all hurts too much. More than anything I'd like to be able to do all this without the pain coming back.

I would rather speak what I have to say, move through the world and see more things than ever before; but truly I'm afraid it will hurt.

Until I know what my sickness is I cannot find an answer.

I do not seek a light, I seek a knowing, a feeling.

For now I'm trapped in all the things that hold me and I have faith that I will find the truth. I have faith that I will improve.

I hope that deep inside I'm not doing these photographs just to become a better photographer. I hope these lead to me being a better person, recognizing what's wrong, knowing the help I need.

The blind need at least a cane to walk.

I'll find my cane and get out of this prison.
