Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse - a photo on Flickriver

            Yes there is a lighthouse there. I wanted to get a different shot of this fine old lighthouse than everyone else, so went trekking over a nearby beach and found these magnificent wildflowers adorning the foreground. Unfortunately, the lighthouse is a wee bit tiny in the background, apologies for that!
 
As the name suggests this is Cape Leeuwin lighthouse the most south-westerly mainland point of Australia. In Australia it is considered where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean, but most other nations and bodies consider that the Southern Ocean exists only south of 60°S. After looking out at the expanse of ocean all I could conclude was there was definitely lots of oceans out there. Apparently in sailing there are three great capes off continents, Africa's Cape of Good Hope, Australia's Cape Leeuwin, and South America's Cape Horn.

Let me illuminate you about the lighthouse ;) Although some people don't have the foggiest idea about it, and even mist it completely, it is a nice lighthouse. It doesn't harbour any ill will, and really knows how to bring home the beacon. I asked it if it liked the photo I took of it, to which it replied "shore is pretty".
