Airline symmetry :) A lively scene at London Gatwick in the summer of 1985

Another busy day at London Gatwick
I-GISO Sud Aviation Caravelle 10B3 is seen taxiing for take off on an Altair charter flight at London Gatwick. The aircraft was originally OH-LSD with Finnair [see my other photo in comments section below - when OH-LSD was with CTA and carried an odd hybrid livery].

In the middle distance is TEA Boeing 737-2M8 OO-TEL, and I can't help noticing the synergy between the TEA and Altair liveries!
In the newly built cargo area, there is more symmetry with the pair of Tradewinds Boeing 707s, which were playfully registered G-SAIL and G-WIND :) Tucked behind, to complete the varied scene, is a Royal Saudi Air Force Lockheed Hercules!!! Having a closer look - is that a Saudi or a Pakistan AF Hercules??? - see comments from NTG842 and Polski Photos below... 1-0 to Nigeria at the moment :)

OH-LSD 'Oulu' c/n 187 - Sud Aviation Caravelle 10B3 Super B - was delivered new to Finnair in Sep 1964 and flew with the airline until 1984, when it was sold to Altair (Italy) as I-GISO. Three years later, it was sold again, this time to Europe Aero Service (EAS) as F-GELP. In 1989 the aircraft passed to ACI Air Charter International and in 1992 to Air Toulouse International. It flew throughout the 1990s and was only retired in 2004, being broken up at Toulouse.

282 Caravelles were produced between 1955 and 1973. The Caravelle 10B (Super Caravelle) variant was primarily operated by Finnair, the launch customer. More information here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sud_Aviation_Caravelle
