Solar Swansong - a photo on Flickriver

            I’m not always sure that I have the eye of a true photographer. There are sometimes obvious shots that I miss and when I see what one of my companions spotted that I didn’t I kick myself and swear to pay more attention next time. This was one of the few times I managed to pull one over on my friends. 

We were all lined up on the shores of the loch looking for the sun setting over the hills in the distance. When everyone was chatting away talking about exposure settings and grad filters I spotted this solo swan slowly and quietly drifting towards us. I quickly dismounted the camera from the tripod, whipped off the big stopper and grabbed a few shots as the swan passed through the line of the sun. This was my favourite of the few frames I grabbed but what was even more enjoyable was that not another person got this shot. :-) (smug smile)
