            The maple bacon shortbread here was an idea that I gave to Cardinal Cafe in Sharbot Lake on one of our daily stops for java on route to work around Christmas time when they were serving maple shortbread. I told the then owner Rob and Chris the baker that nothing goes with maple except bacon!! A few days later and lo and behold I was to taste test the shortbread.

Today, after my appt at the Health Clinic for my routine bloodwork I stopped and of course Chris told me that there was maple bacon shortbread there in the display. She then told the new owner Christine that it was my idea to make their best seller Maple Bacon Shortbread. 

Of course I had to buy a few things to photograph.
