Trio TS-520 HF SSB Transceiver - a photo on Flickriver

            A classic from the early 1970s, and heavy enough to be classed as a "boatanchor rig".

This is the early version without Top Band (160m).

In reasonable external order, and very little evidence of tampering with the internals.

At the time of writing (November 2008) this radio has a number of faults to resolve and isn't yet airworthy.

Equipment from this manufacturer was generally marketed with the "Kenwood" brand in the US, and as "Trio" in Europe.

Eventually all marketed equipment acquired the Kenwood brand name, and the Trio name was dropped.

The eagle-eyed of you will have spotted that one of the meter illumination lamps is out ...

The photo was taken after the front panel and control knobs had been cleaned up.
