LT trolleybus No. 146 @ South End Green

An old photograph taken at the South End Green Terminus by Hampstead Heath, of London Transport (LT) C1 class trolleybus No. 146 (registration CGF146) showing '???/513 - Holborn Circus via Grays Inn Rd' destination blinds.

The photo reverse is stamped with the photographer (and/or negative owner) name of Alan B. Cross, and annotated with "Hampstead Heath".

No. 146 was new to LT in Oct 1935 and comprised an AEC 664T triple axle chassis No. 029 and a Metropolitan-Cammell series 96 body seating 70 (H38/32R). It was withdrawn from service in Mar 1955 and the following March was sold for scrap to Bird of Stratford-on-Avon.

The parts of the London trolleybus system that had not already been withdrawn or transferred to bus operation closed in May 1962.

"611 is the most likely other number, although 611 was Moorgate - Highgate Village, not a Hampstead route.
Should be showing 513 here.
513 ran Hampstead - Holborn Circus - Parliament Hill Fields, 613 the opposite way round (except on Sundays when 613 didn't run and 513 did a loop via Grays Inn Road - Holborn - Farringdon Road)
Could be badly set, or the photographer could have caught the conductor in the act of changing the blind.
The Hampstead routes went to bus operation on 1 February 1961, with this section of route replaced by an extension to bus route 45, which in turn had replaced south London tram 34." 🚃
