Maidstone Daimler bus No. 82 on loan to LT

            An old photograph of Maidstone Corporation Transport (MCT) bus No. 82 (registration LKJ782) showing a '164A - Sutton - Morden Stn' while on loan to London Transport (LT).

The photo reverse is stamped with the photographer (and/or negative owner) name G. E. Badderley. Although it carried the MCT crest it has the LT radiator roundel etc., so was on hire to LT when this was taken, sometime between Apr 1949 and Sep 1950.

No. 82 was new to MCT in Feb 1949 and comprised a Daimler CVG6 chassis No. 14871 with a Brush body seating 56 (H30/26R). The next month it was hired to LT, being returned in Sep 1950 and withdrawn from MCT service in 1963.
