Matilija Poppy and Honey Bees in 2000 - 0897

            In 2000, armed with a peashooter, the Olympus Camedia, Olympus' first digital camera, I thought that the only subjects I would be able to get decent shots of were flowers. Flowers didn't move. 

On a whim - because I no longer had to concern myself with the cost of film and processing - I thought I'd try to get these bees hovering above this Matilija Poppy happily existing on Mt. Diablo.

Twenty-one years later, well last Friday, I found a bunch of these flowers on the foothills, and without realizing that I had a previous image, I must have taken 20 or more from different angles. They were in a shaded area, and I thought I could get them without blowing out the whites. Next week, I'll post one. Too bad there were no bees this time.                          

Hey, look. No noise! Cameras in 2000 were no equipped with noise. You had to produce it yourself, and I became an expert a decade later ;-)
