Kasteel Le Paige, Herentals - a photo on Flickriver

            Het kasteel Le Paige ligt aan de Nederrij in Herentals. Het arboretum rond het kasteel bevat een zeventigtal merkwaardige boomsoorten uit Europa, Afrika, Amerika en Azië.  Henri Jean Le Paige, burgemeester te Herentals (1836-1848),  begon met de aanleg van het park tussen 1820 en 1830. De familie Le Paige bouwde het park nadien verder uit. In 1979 werd het kasteel beschermd als monument. Een samenwerking van de vzw Ter Vesten, de kerkfabriek en het stadsbestuur heeft ervoor gezorgd dat het kasteel grondig gerestaureerd werd en sinds 2000 een socio-culturele functie heeft.
