"The uses of not"

I love reading the "Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu.
I can only read it in translation - but there's a feeling of trying to catch the floating mist about it. It seems simple, but so elusive!
I collect translations, and compare them and ponder ... then try to put it into the photographs I take. So this image is one that was inspired by no.11
I was waiting for an hour in the car, with only the front fascia, the rainy windscreen, and a Lensbaby optic. I'd brought few props along, including this small liqueur glass - to illustrate the words here ....

"We join thirty spokes to the hub of a wheel,
yet it’s the center hole that drives the chariot.

We shape clay to birth a vessel,
yet it’s the hollow within that makes it useful.

We chisel doors and windows to construct a room,
yet it’s the inner space that makes it livable.
