Green is My Fall Color - a photo on Flickriver

            By late fall most green has disappeared from our hardwood forests.  The browns, reds and yellows, of millions of downed leaves dominates the forest floor.  However, most of the ferns have remained true to their green color making a nice contrast with the other colors of autumn.  Dryopteris intermedia (Wood Fern).
