A circular rainbow. - a photo on Flickriver

            Since the question has come up ... an explaination of sorts.

This circular rainbow is coming off of the clouds. The sun is setting directly behind me and at an angle such that its rays hit the ice crystals in the tops of these clouds. I've seen them brighter, but this is the first chance I had to have a camera at the ready.

In another shot, I managed to catch the moon rise near the wing.
