Street Portrait 36/100 Ben (Explore)

It's been a while since I last made a portrait of a stranger and I am quite enjoying the slow down of the last year or two in my project. I used to think a good day was 20 images, now I am happy if I go out for a day and find one person!

This weekend I managed to spend a beautiful sunny bank holiday weekend Sunday in Leicester with Arnab walking around talking and looking to make a picture or two.

I spotted this guy walking with another guy (his brother) and loved his cool summer look so quickly approached to create a portrait in a pocket of open shade we had just been admiring the quality of light in.

Ben was quick to agree to a portrait, I asked him to throw his jacket over his shoulder and we shot a few frames. His smile is on account of some local youths who found the idea of a photoshoot to be totally out of the ordinary and decided to mouth off a little, he smiled and I totally ignored them!

Ben was a cool character, a primary school teacher from a nearby town who was in Leicester to visit his brother. He looked far too cool to be just a primary school teacher so it came as no surprise to find out he was in a band (he plays guitar) and he was scoping out a gig he was playing that evening.

It was great to get back in the portrait game, I only came back with one portrait but had a lovely day out people watching.

This is image 36/100 in my 4th set of images in my 100Strangers ongoing project.
