THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST GEORGE is a Grade I listed building of Victorian Gothic style. It was  designed by architect George Gilbert Scott and built between 1854 to 1858 on the site of a 12th century Norman place of worship that had been destroyed by fire in 1853.
On 17th June 2004, the church was minster status and became the Minster and Parish Church of St George.

DONCASTER RACECOURSE is a mainly flat, left-handed track around 1 mile 7.5 furlongs in length. As well as the most popular flat circuit, there is also a National Hunt course. Horse Racing at Doncaster dates back to the late 16th century, by 1614 a permanent course was marked out and in 1776 the move to the present location of Town Moor took place. The most famous horse race to be held at Doncaster is The St. Leger Stakes, the oldest classic horse race on the English calendar dating back to 1776.

SANDALL PARK covers 69 acres, it was once a brick works which closed in 1841 and the removal of clay, for the manufacture of bricks resulted in the park's lake. It wasn't until 1940 it was officially opened as Sandall Park. The lake was a boating lake up until the 1980s when fish were introduced and it became a fishing lake.

SOUTH PARADE extends eastwards along the Great North Road and marks the extension of Doncaster during the Georgian period (1740-1830). The buildings reflect the prosperity brought to Doncaster as horse racing town and the home of the prestigious St. Leger race meeting. South Parade was designated a conservation area in April 1974 and features 17 listed buildings in the area.

Bamforth & Co. was founded in Holmfirth, Yorkshire in 1870 as a photographic studio by James Bamforth. Postcard production started in 1903 and Bamforth & Co. became a limited company in 1910. Derek Bamforth, the then owner of the company, retired in the early 1980s and sold his business to E.T.W Dennis and Sons Ltd of Scarborough. When E.T.W. Dennis & Sons Ltd closed in 2000 the Bamforth & Co. Ltd name was bought by Ian Wallace of Leeds, along with the rights to over 50,000 postcard images.
