4806 Peace Flame Garden at Rose gardens Wellington 07 05 24

            The plaque explains how the fires of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were combined and kept burning in the Toshogu shrine and a flame was donated to New Zealand in 1990 in recognition of of our Parliament passing a non-nuclear act. The flame apparently sits in the Japanese lantern though I could not see it when I visited. However it is quite a sight with the stream tumbling down into the pond that lent itself to a vertical orientation.
