This morning, I took a bunch of shots of the gorgeous sunrise, and I thought (really I did): if this is the best it gets today, it's still pretty fucking great.

I got to work early—before my boss, even, which is rare.  We had a marketing meeting at 9, and as everyone was filing in, I was having a rare migraine that paralyzed my eye and made me sick.  I've only had five of them, the first one coming on Christmas eve day after my friend Mark Harp had died.  I attributed it to a cortisone shot.  Sure enough: the next two times I had cortisone shots, the same thing happened.  Since then, it's happened twice without the shots, once on a walk with Jenny sometime in the spring.

It was scary.  I thought I was having a stroke, but I was having people wait before calling 911.  Eventually, the eye came back.

I think I was stressed out over a bill that went to collections.  For a year I avoided confrontation with the insurance company because I was just too tired of it all.  But today I handled it like a pro and expect an $800 refund.

I had shiatsu, which hurt like a mofo, and then I watched ParaNorman with the kids.  

And my mommy got a new dog!  His name is Eddie, and I'm so excited to see him.

This weekend is the SoR tribute to the '70s, so I'll be at the bar avoiding beer.  

Ten days without beer.  It's not affecting my photography!
